Grizzly Bear Contracting is a family owned and operated business that specializes in quality renovations and outdoor structures in Guelph and the Tri-City area. Run solely by husband and wife, Alex and Dannah Button, Alex is the carpenter and contractor who works with clients and their projects directly, and Dannah works her magic behind the scenes in marketing and administration.

Alex Button
Alex Button is the president, contractor and carpenter of Grizzly Bear Contracting, involved in every step of his client’s projects, from quoting and designing, all the way to execution and job completion.
With 10 years of hands-on experience, Alex didn’t always know that this line of work was for him. After obtaining his degree in urban planning from the University of Waterloo, Alex went on to become a red seal carpenter when he realized that his passion couldn’t be found behind a desk, but instead lies in using his hands to build new things.
Alex has a creative mind and a talent for imagining aesthetically functional designs and bringing them to life. With a great appreciation for fine craftsmanship, Alex holds himself to the highest standards of performance. With an honest and professional approach, nothing brings him greater satisfaction than working one on one with clients to make their home improvements a reality.
Alex is a specialist in carpentry and tiling, and brings in trusted companies for plumbing and electrical requirements. For large jobs, he will occasionally contract painting and drywalling companies that meet his standards of excellence.
